Brine adds complexity to any dish and also extends the shelf life of perishable foods.
Ingredients
- 3 cups of water
- 1/2 cup of salt
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 2 tbsp of pickling spice
- 4 cups of ice
Method
- In a medium saucepan add all ingredients except ice and bring to a boil. Remove immediately and strain over ice, let cool completely.
