Dill Pickle Relish

These classic dill pickles are simple to make and can even be cut into relish.

Ingredients

  1. 1 large Cucumber
  2. 1 1/2 cups White Vinegar
  3. 1/2 cup Water
  4. 1 tbsp. Salt
  5. 1 tsp Sugar
  6. 2 cloves Garlic
  7. 2 sprigs Dill

Method

  1. Peel and seed cucumber and cut to an appropriate size to fit in a pickling jar.
  2. Place cucumber, dill, and garlic in a sanitized pickling jar.
  3. Combine Salt, sugar, vinegar, and water in a medium sauce pan. Simmer until sugar and salt are dissolved.
  4. While still hot, pour liquid into jar with cucumbers. Place a lid on the jar and let sit overnight.
  5. The pickles can be eaten as is or chopped into relish the next day. They will hold for up to 3 months under refrigeration.
