These dessert bars have a little bit of everything and are sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter (softened)
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 each egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ cup chopped almonds
- ¼ cup maraschino cherries
- ¼ cup coconut flakes
- ¼ cup chocolate chips
Method
- Preheat Egg to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and set up for indirect cooking.
- Set out butter and allow to come to room temperature. Once softened, mix together butter and sugar in a mixer with a paddle attachment scraping the sides of the bowl as needed. Once the butter and sugar are creamed, add in egg and vanilla and allow to incorporate.
- Combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet to avoid making a mess and allowing it to incorporate.
- Once dry and wet ingredients are combined, fold in cherries, coconut, and chocolate chips. Evenly spread mixture in a greased baking pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a pick comes out of the middle clean. Allow to cool, cut evenly, and serve.
