Winter Coleslaw

Nutritional Information

This coleslaw recipe uses cabbage, apple and fresh herbs.


  • 1/2 head green cabbage, sliced fine
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 4 crisp red apples, cored
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped tarragon
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • pinch of cayenne


  • 1. Add the cabbage to a large bowl. Add the lemon juice, mayo, and mustard; toss to combine.
  • 2. Preheat the Egg to 400º using direct heat and a cast iron grate. Grill the apples for a few minutes per side until char marks form. Once cool enough to handle, slice into large julienne (matchstick-shaped cuts)
  • 3. Add to the cabbage along with the rest of the ingredients. Serve immediately.
