Smoked Brisket Tacos

Smoky Brisket adds a different twist on the traditional taco.


  • 2 lb. flat-cut beef brisket, trimmed
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • .25 lb. jack cheese, cubed
  • .25 cup fresh lime juice
  • .25 cup finely chopped cilantro
  • 4 scallions, chopped
  • 16 ea. Warmed corn tortillas
  • 1 avocado, pitted and sliced
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste


  • 1. Prepare Egg for smoking, 225ºF mulberry wood. Smoke brisket until internal temperature of 160ºF is reached. Wrap brisket in foil and return to the grill until internal temperature of 225ºF is reached. Remove from heat and let brisket cool, uncovered. Transfer brisket to a cutting board; shred with your fingers. Roughly chop meat; transfer to a bowl. Mix in the cheese, lime juice, cilantro, scallions, and tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve wrapped in tortillas and topped with avocado slices.
