Rich Yeast Bread

Prep Time:2 1/2 Hours
Cook Time:20 Minutes

Nutritional Information

Use this dough for hamburger buns, hot dog buns or dinner rolls.

  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • 1 1/4 cup water, 100º-110ºF
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 4 ounces butter, melted

  • 1. Combine the yeast, water and sugar. Let it ferment for 10 minutes.
  • 2. Add the melted butter, beaten egg and the flour. Mix until well combined and a dough forms.
  • 3. Let the dough ferment in a lightly greased, covered bowl until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
  • 4. Divide the dough into 2 oz balls. Form the dough into desired shapes. If you are making pigs in a blanket, roll out each 2 oz piece, fill with desired toppings and roll up. Let proof for 1 hour, covered with a damp towel.
  • 5. Preheat the EGG to 425º using indirect heat for the rolls and 400ºF using indirect heat for the pigs in a blanket. Cook for about 15-25 minutes or until golden brown.
