Caramel Popcorn and Pretzels

Easy snack for any night of the week.

Ingredients

  1. 2 1/2 quarts popped popcorn
  2. 2 cups pretzels of choice
  3. ½ cup butter or margarine
  4. 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  5. ¼ cup light corn syrup
  6. 1 teaspoon salt
  7. ¼ teaspoon baking soda

Method

  1. Preheat the Egg to 250 F set up with indirect heat. Place popped corn and pretzels in a large shallow baking pan; keep warm on Egg.
  2. Meanwhile, combine butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt in a heavy saucepan; cook and stir until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil and cook for 3-4 mins. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda. Remove popped corn and pretzels from the Egg; immediately pour a steady stream of syrup over popped corn and pretzels. Mix well. Return to the Egg for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool and store in an airtight container.
