Pancit Bihon

Nutritional Information

A Filipino style noodle dish using rice noodles.


  • 1/2 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small carrot, thinly sliced
  • 1 small red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup napa cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 pound chicken breast
  • 2 links cooked chinese sausage, 1/2 inch thick slices
  • 1/2 package pancit bihon (rice stick noodles)
  • to taste soy sauce
  • to taste fish sauce
  • to taste fresh ground black pepper
  • wedges of lime or calamansi, for garnish


  • 1. Preheat EGG to 375 degrees F using direct heat and a cast iron grate.
  • 2. In a medium bowl, place the pancit bihon and enough warm water to cover. Set aside.
  • 3. Preheat paella pan on the EGG.
  • 4. Heat the oil in the paella pan. Stir- fry the garlic, onions, carrot, and red bell pepper for 5 minutes.
  • 5. Create a well in the middle of the vegetables. Add the chicken breast and let cook 5 minutes. Stirring occassionally. Add the chinese sausage and let cook 2 minutes. Stir all the ingredients together and let cook 2 more minutes.
  • 6. Add the pancit bihon (reserving the water) and the cabbage. Stir to thoroughly combine the noodles and the cabbage with the chicken breast, sausage and vegetables. Add 1 tablespoon of the soy sauce and fish sauce to start. Continue to stir-fry for 4 more minutes. If the noodles look dry, add a little of the reserved noodle water. The noodles should be moist. Remove from the EGG. Taste and readust seasonings adding more soy sauce, fish sauce, salt and pepper as needed.
  • 7. Serve hot with wedges of lime or calamansi.
