Molasses BBQ Sauce

Nutritional Information

A versatile BBQ sauce that can be used on anything from chicken to brisket.


  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/6 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/8 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • to taste kosher salt
  • to taste ground black pepper


  • 1. Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil until sugar dissolves. Let cook about 25 minutes. Serve hot or store covered in a plastic container in the refrigerator.

Variation: Brisket Class on 03/25/15; add 1 cup malt vinegar, 1 tablespoon Dizzy Dust, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander, 1 tablespoon ground ginger and substitute honey for the corn syrup. Follow directions as stated above.
