The secret to this recipe is dipping the bread in the olive oil rather than brushing it on. This creates a crispy and chewy texture.


  • 1 loaf french baguette, sliced
  • olive oil, as needed


  • 1. Dunk each slice of bread in olive oil and set the bread vertically in a pan so that any excess oil can drip off.
  • 2. Preheat the Egg to 400º using direct heat and a cast iron grate. Grill the bread on each side until char marks form and it is slightly toasted. Serve immediately.
