Cuban Sandwich

Nutritional Information

This classic recipe uses smoked pork, ham and swiss cheese.

Ingredients

  • 4 bolillo rolls, see recipe
  • 1/2 cup mustard
  • pickles, as desired
  • 6 ounces pulled pork, see recipe
  • 4 ounces swiss cheese
  • 6 ounces ham, thinly sliced
  • butter, as needed

Directions

  • 1. Preheat the EGG to 400º using indirect heat. Preheat 2 cast iron grates or one grate and 1 cast iron pan/dutch oven.
  • 2. Assemble the sandwiches as desired, lightly buttering the outside of each sandwich.
  • 3. Place the sandwiches on the preheated cast iron grate, and place either another cast iron grate on top or the preheated cast iron pan. (So that they are sandwiched between 2 pieces of hot cast iron.)
  • 4. Grill for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the sandwich is slightly toasted.
