A super delicious alternative to a traditional pizza.
Ingredients
- For The Dough:
- 14 tablespoons water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 1/4 cups of flour
- 3 teaspoons salt
- For The Topping:
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning, to taste (for the ground beef)
- 1 lb. seasoned lean ground beef, cooked
- 1 cup refried beans (add a little water or beer if too thick to spread)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- For The Garnish:
- Thinly sliced lettuce
- Fresh Cilantro
- Chopped tomatoes
- Taco sauce
- Mexican Crema
- Crushed Tostada shells
Method
- To make the dough: Combine the water and yeast. Let it sit until foamy. Add the sugar and oil. Mix in the flour, add the salt at the end. Proof for 1 hour or until doubled in size, pan up as desired. Proof again for 1 hour, roll out to desired thickness, top and cook.
- Preheat the Egg to 425 degrees with a plate setter.
- Using cornmeal to ensure the pizza dough doesn't stick, place rolled out dough on a pizza tray to prepare for topping.
- Season the dough with extra taco seasoning, spread refried beans on the dough. Add cooked taco meat then finish with mixed cheese. Place directly on a preheated egg with a plate setter. Cook for 12-15 mins or until the bottom of the dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- Once the pizza is cooked, let it rest 5 minutes before serving and finish with desired garnishes.
