A dry rub enhances the flavor of the ribs. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce if you dare!
Ingredients
- 3 racks of baby back ribs
- Brine, see our recipe
- Rub of choice
- Sauce of choice
- 2 cups apple juice, in a spray bottle
- For The Buffalo Sauce:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 cup Franks hot sauce
- For The BBQ Sauce:
- 1 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup yellow mustard
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
Method
- Remove the membrane from the underside of the ribs. Brine the ribs for 2 hrs. Remove from the brine and pat dry, season liberally with the rub of choice. Allow to sit for 1 hr or up to overnight.
- Preheat the Egg to 250F indirect heat. Once preheated, place the ribs on the grill and spray with apple juice every 30 mins after 2 hrs and up to 4 hrs.
- For The Buffalo Sauce: melt 1/2 cup of butter with minced garlic in a medium saucepan. Once melted slowly whisk in hot sauce then remove from heat. Serve buffalo sauce warm.
- For The BBQ Sauce: add all ingredients to a medium saucepan over medium low heat. Bring to a simmer. Let simmer for 10-20 minutes or until the sauce has thickened. Serve BBQ sauce warm.
- After 4 hrs of cook time remove the ribs from the grill and cut into single bones and toss in more of the rub of choice. Set up the Eggl for direct grilling at 400F. Once preheated, cook individual ribs for 3 mins per side at high heat.
