An original peasant food, this versatile dish can be enjoyed in many forms - cheesy, creamy, firm or grilled.
Ingredients
- 5 cups chicken broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ¼ cups polenta
- 5 ounces extra-sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- ¼ cup of butter
- 5 tbsp heavy cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Method
- In a medium saucepan, bring the broth to a boil. Add the garlic and slowly stir in the polenta. Reduce the heat to medium low and cook, stirring frequently until the polenta is tender, 5-10 mins depending on the polenta. Remove from the heat and stir in butter, cream, and cheese. Season with salt and pepper and serve immediately.
